The tag cloud (in the upper right) not only allows multiple tags to be selected and de-selected. The result is not only all items that match any of the selected tags, but those items are also grouped per number of matching tags. That allows you to find the articles you are looking for in a more relaxed way. You don't have to know all tags, but the more you select the better the result, without punishing you for selecting a wrong tag. Read more...

After a short down period, basa.nl is back on-line, and with a brand new design. The site is now in English instead of Dutch, which allows a larger audience. Articles are shown in blog style: newest first, oldest last, each labeled with one or more tags. The tag cloud allows multiple tags to be selected simultaneously, which is brilliant! You can control which articles are shown by selecting and de-selecting tags. And don't forget to subscribe to the RSS feed!

I discontinued my twitter account @patjakker. No more tweets, sorry to my followers. For several reasons. I have a blog and a website, why bother with a microblog. Twitter has become unstable lately: either by being unavailable as a service, or by mishandling my tweets. People only seem to tweet their location, or their breakfast, instead of something intelligent. Even the artistic tweeters, like @themime, become boring after a short time. Frankly, my tweets weren't mind boggling either. But most of all, twittering does not contribute to a meaningful web.

Despite all my plans to blog about real life, I couldn't resist to write about the semantic web, or rather: how to get there one step quicker. If you add namespaces (like in sgml) to tags (like the ones in tag clouds), the things people write become a lot easier to understand. Check out my Tag Namespaces.
